Moving to a new home: a story to read together

A short story for a big moment, in your child's own voice. Add names if you like and read it on screen, or print it as a little folded book. Pack your child's favorite things last and unpack them first, so the new place feels like theirs right away.

📦

Our family is moving to a new home. We are putting our things into boxes.

🚚

A big truck will carry our things. My bed, my toys and my books are all coming with me.

🏠

Our new home will look different. It will have new rooms and new places to explore.

👨‍👩‍👧

The people who love me are coming, too. My grown-up will be there at night, just like always.

🧸

I can pick something special to carry myself. It will keep me company in the car.

😟

I might miss my old home. That is okay. I can talk about it and draw a picture of it.

🌙

At bedtime we will read a story, just like we do now. Soon the new home will feel like home.
