Buying and selling uses numbers, reading labels and lots of talk. It takes about 20 minutes and uses food boxes and cans from the cupboard, paper, a marker.

How to play

Play store4 and 5 year olds · about 20 minutes

You need: food boxes and cans from the cupboard, paper, a marker.

  1. Set out a few boxes and cans as the store.
  2. Make price tags from 1 to 10 together.
  3. Draw paper money and take turns being the shopper and the shopkeeper.
  4. Count out the money for each thing you buy.
