You need: two books.

  1. Hold up two books.
  2. Ask "Which one?" and let your toddler point or grab.
  3. Read the one they pick, and let them turn the pages.
  4. Read it again if they ask; repeats are good.

Builds: language and talking and social and emotional. Choosing the book gives your toddler a say, and turning pages is part of reading.
