Lids on, lids off: a play idea for 9 to 12 months

Lids take two hands working together, a new challenge at this age. It takes about 5 minutes and uses two or three plastic food containers with easy lids.

How to play

Lids on, lids off9 to 12 months · about 5 minutes

You need: two or three plastic food containers with easy lids.

  1. Put a lid loosely on a container.
  2. Show your baby how to pull it off: "Off!"
  3. Help them press it back on: "On!"
  4. Hide a toy inside for a surprise.

Builds: moving and using hands and thinking and problem solving. Lids take two hands working together, a new challenge at this age.
