Taking turns with sounds is the first step toward taking turns in a conversation. It takes about 3 minutes and uses nothing but you.

How to play

Coo conversations0 to 3 months · about 3 minutes

You need: nothing at all.

  1. Wait for your baby to coo or make a sound.
  2. Copy it back: "Ooooh!"
  3. Pause and wait for their next sound.
  4. A big brother or sister can take a turn too, sitting close beside you.

Builds: language and talking and social and emotional. Taking turns with sounds is the first step toward taking turns in a conversation.
