Hand to hand: a play idea for 6 to 9 months

Passing a toy from hand to hand is a new skill around this age. It takes about 3 minutes and uses two toys.

How to play

Hand to hand6 to 9 months · about 3 minutes

You need: two toys.

  1. Give your sitting baby a toy.
  2. Offer a second toy to the same hand.
  3. Watch them pass the first toy to the other hand to take the new one.
  4. Say what's happening: "Now you have two!"

Builds: moving and using hands. Passing a toy from hand to hand is a new skill around this age.
