You need: a basket or box, a wooden spoon, a whisk, a big lid, measuring cups, a soft scarf.
- Fill a low basket with a few safe kitchen things.
- Sit your baby beside it.
- Let them pull things out and explore in their own way.
- Name each thing they pick up: "A whisk. It's bumpy."
Builds: thinking and problem solving and moving and using hands. Real things have weights, sounds and textures that babies love to explore.
Safety: Choose things too big to fit in your baby's mouth, with no loose parts, and stay beside them: everything goes in the mouth at this age.
