When is my child ready to potty train?
The AAP says readiness signs matter more than a birthday. Look for signs such as staying dry for stretches, telling you they need to go, following simple directions and wanting to be a big kid. Children differ a great deal, and pressure can backfire. Your pediatrician can help if you have worries about your child.
