What has changed since we raised our kids?
Safe sleep is the biggest change. Today the AAP says babies sleep on their backs on a firm, flat surface with nothing soft in the crib, where older advice allowed stomach sleeping and bumpers. Feeding and car seat advice have changed too, so a grandparent's best step is to ask the parents what their pediatrician says.
